CONCEPT ART

I had a few minutes this beautiful Sunday afternoon and so I thought I would take the opportunity to share with you one of my favorite pieces of concept art from the film. There is a long story about how are having MAJOR issues getting the outlines on Fritz to render correctly, but I won't bore you with that here... THAT'S for my Thesis...

So though he most likely will not appear this way in the film (as originally planned), we can always look back and remember Fritz in his younger, outline-abundant youth.

FAN ATTACK

Here's a fun little clip with newly-finished animation. There is still no background, and there are no effects (cool air will be visible for the first couple of seconds followed by sparks flying out of the fan when it freaks out), nor are the surfaces on the paint bucket (taped to the back of the fan) complete. Enjoy?

ACCAD OPEN HOUSE

Last Friday was a real mountain top experience as we shared our progress on Stay Cool with the folks attending the ACCAD Open House. Phil Bourland (animator), Tony Piazza (cinematographer) and I talked about the films origins, design, showed clips from the film and performed a live storyboard pitch.

PART ONE of the video covers the design aspects of the film.

PART TWO of the video is me performing a storyboard pitch of the first act of Stay Cool.

PART THREE of the video is Tony and Phil explaining their respective roles in the film.

PART FOUR of the video is a bit more on animation and the conclusion.
